BEVERLY ACHA


Beverly Acha (b. 1987, Miami, FL) makes paintings, prints, and drawings using an abstract visual language rooted in the observed world. Patterns and repeated shapes in her work reference formalism, systems/structures, architecture, landscape, and the body. She has exhibited work at DC Moore Gallery, El Museo del Barrio, Smack Mellon, Rubber Factory, Underdonk, La MaMa Galleria, and International Print Center of New York, among others. Acha is a MacDowell Colony fellow, Lighthouse Works fellow, and has participated in residencies including Skowhegan, Roswell Artist-in-Residence Program, Wassaic Project, and the Vermont Studio Center. Acha holds a BA from Williams College and an MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Yale School of Art. She lives and works between Austin, TX and NYC and currently teaches at the University of Texas at Austin.
